Two Rooms,
Two Experiences

Hey Nonny offers a Midwestern French Bistro experience - Chef Tim's moderately-priced seasonal comfort food - and classic cocktails - in a cozy room.
The Venue room offers Chicago’s best intimate “listening room”
concert experience for ticketed shows.

HOW IT WORKS

There are many ways to enjoy Hey Nonny!

Dining - Plenty of guests visit just to enjoy the Bistro’s food and drinks - no music, just a cozy room, great service, and Chef Tim’s comfort-forward cooking. Diners in the Bistro do not see or hear the ticketed shows in the Venue.

Music - Five nights a week, Hey Nonny presents ticketed shows in our Venue. The lineup ranges from a cappella to zydeco, with jazz, blues, folk, rock, and country in between, plus the occasional comedy or storytelling night. Our Venue is nationally recognized as an intimate “listening room.” Ticket options include Premier (full dining), Cabaret (small-plates Venue Menu), and General Admission Standing.

Dinner & a Show - There are two easy ways to pair dinner with a ticketed performance:

1, choose one of the four Premier tables at the back of the Venue, which offer full dinner service and excellent views of the stage. Arrive when doors open at 6:30 to enjoy dinner and conversation before the show, then linger with dessert or drinks once the music begins.

2, or reserve a 6:00 pm dinner in the Bistro, then slip into the Venue for the 7:30 show.

Getting Here

Address: Hey Nonny is located at 10 South Vail Avenue in downtown Arlington Heights across from Harmony Park.

Transit: It’s more fun not to drive…take a rideshare, or better yet walk, bike, skateboard, or take public transportation to Hey Nonny. The Arlington Heights Metra station is two short blocks away (Union Pacific Northwest Line).

Parking:  The street in front of Hey Nonny is closed May - September for Arlington Al fresco.  During the rest of the year, street parking is available and free. The pro move is to park in the parking garage immediately south of Hey Nonny. The garage offers free evening parking on the 1st, 4th, and 5th levels. Please read the signs closely!

Tickets

Purchasing: Tickets are available at HeyNonny.com or in-person at the host stand. The usual ticket service fee applies either way, so for your convenience, buying online in advance is the best move. We admit patrons to shows from our Will Call list. You just give the ticket buyer’s name; you don’t need a physical ticket for admission.

Seating Categories: For most shows, tickets are sold in three sections:  Premier, Cabaret, and General Admission-Standing.  These sections are described below. Tickets in the Premier and Cabaret sections are for specific seats at specific tables. Your seats will be waiting for you whenever you arrive. Tables seat 4 people and if you buy fewer than 4 seats at a table, chances are there will be some other nice folks sitting with you.

•Premier Seat:  Seating at high top tables along the window with great stage views. Our great cocktails and full dinner menu are available for purchase at these seats before and during concerts. You do not need a dining reservation if you have Premier Seats!

•Cabaret Seat:  Seating at cocktail tables arrayed close to the stage with four seats per table. Our friendly servers offer small plate food items from our Venue Menu (because the tables are too small for full dinners), along with Hey Nonny beverages. If you’d like the full dinner menu, make a reservation for the Bistro at around 6 pm before your show.

•General Admission-Standing:  Standing room near the Venue Bar (convenient for ordering drinks!). No food service is available for the GA- Standing tickets.

Ticket Confirmation: You’ll receive an email confirming your ticket purchase for  concert at Hey Nonny. Please add “Tickets@HeyNonny.com” to your address book to ensure you’ll receive your confirmation email. Hey Nonny does not print or mail tickets.

No Refunds: All ticket sales are FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE unless Hey Nonny cancels a show. In that case, your refund will automatically be applied to the credit card you used for purchase. If you can’t attend a show, you can sell or give away your tickets. Just have the recipient give the purchaser’s name at the door.

In the Venue

Admission: Admission is according to the name of the ticket purchaser. If you’re buying tickets for someone else, or having others join you, have them give the purchaser’s name at the door. If you’re giving your ticket to someone else at the last minute, just forward your confirmation email to them.

Doors: Doors to the venue open one hour prior to show time unless otherwise noted.

All Ages: Our shows are all ages unless otherwise indicated. Get the kids in to hear good music!

Accessibility: Hey Nonny is accessible to people of all abilities. If you need accessibility accommodations, please call us at 224-202-0750 or email us at Contact@HeyNonny.com at least 24-hours in advance so that we can help.

Bag Policy:  All bags large or small are subject to visual inspection upon entry to Hey Nonny.

Photography and Recording: Non-flash photography is permitted during performances. Don’t forget to share and tag @HeyNonnyAH! Live streaming of any show is prohibited. Professional photography/video/audio recording equipment is only allowed into the venue with the prior consent of the artist and venue.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of live music?

At Hey Nonny, we showcase a wide range of live music - from rock, pop, reggae, jazz, and blues, to folk, bluegrass, country, classical, and beyond. Our focus isn’t on specific genres, but on intimate listening experiences and the unparalleled creativity of our performers. You won’t find many cover or tribute bands here; instead, Hey Nonny is a space for original, inspired music that connects deeply with our audience.

What's the deal with music at Hey Nonny?

Hey Nonny hosts ticketed live music in our Venue room at 7:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. Tickets are available online at HeyNonny.com, , and it’s best to purchase in advance, as shows often sell out. Ticket prices range from $12 to $65, depending on the performance and seating. Tickets for venue performances must be reserved separately from dining reservations.

We also offer free live music in the Bistro room every Friday and Saturday from 4–6 PM, often paired with special food and drink promotions. Whether you’re here for a full ticketed show or a casual evening with friends, Hey Nonny makes live music in Arlington Heights an unforgettable experience.

Can I eat in the venue?

Yes! Guests seated at the Premier Tables can enjoy our full dinner menu during the show. If you’re at the Cabaret Table seats, a Venue Menu is available. Unfortunately, standing room ticket holders do not have food service.

Many guests prefer to dine in the Bistro before the show, often with a 6 PM reservation, to enjoy a full dinner before the music begins.

Is the music quiet enough so I can talk to my friends?

Hey Nonny is a true listening room, so the music takes center stage, and we ask that conversations be kept to a minimum during performances.

How long are the shows?

Most shows last about two hours, with a short break between sets.

Can I or my cousin Stevie play there?

Hey Nonny features the best Chicago-based musicians as well as top touring artists. If Stevie falls into one of these categories, she’s in!

If you know a talented professional musician or band, please email information to Katie@HeyNonny.com.

Please do not call, mail, or drop off materials at the venue - submissions sent in any other format will not be accepted.

What are the rules on tickets?

All ticket sales at Hey Nonny are final. If you can’t attend a show, you’re welcome to sell or give your tickets to someone else - just make sure the recipient provides the original ticket buyer’s name at the door, as we admit from our Will Call list.

Like most venues, ticket fees apply, but unlike some, these fees are the same whether you purchase tickets online or in person.

What does “Hey Nonny” mean?

“Hey Nonny Nonny” comes from Old English songs and verse, where it expresses a sense of cheerful bliss and carefree joy. In Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, the song “Sigh No More” advises women that “men were deceivers ever,” and suggests turning all your troubles into “Hey Nonny Nonny” - a joyful, whimsical refrain.

We also love the Violent Femmes’ 1991 song “Hey Nonny Nonny”, in which the singer transforms the tension of suppressed desire into a playful “Hey Nonny Nonny”. At Hey Nonny, the name captures our spirit: fun, music, and letting go of your cares.

Do I need a reservation at the Bistro?

Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and evenings, to ensure you get your preferred table. Walk-ins are always welcome, but availability may be limited during peak hours.

Can I request a specific table?

Yes! When making a reservation, you can let us know your seating preference. While we’ll do our best to accommodate requests, we cannot guarantee specific tables during busy times, especially during the Sounds of Summer patio series.

Do you accommodate large groups or private parties?

Absolutely. Hey Nonny can host larger groups and private events in the Bistro. For details, availability, and menu options, please contact us at events@heynonny.com - we’ll help you plan a memorable dining experience!

We also offer at-home gourmet personal chef experiences hrough our brand Niche, bringing the elegance of fine dining directly to your table. Whether you’re hosting an intimate dinner party or celebrating a special occasion, every dish is thoughtfully designed to bring you and your guests a memorable culinary experience that is both refined and unforgettable! Visit our private events page for further details or to start a booking.

Do you have vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options?

Yes! Chef Tim Vidrio crafts an eclectic, seasonal menu with options for a variety of dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes. Our staff is happy to guide you through the menu to find the perfect choice.

Is the menu seasonal or does it change often?

Our menu is seasonally inspired and constantly evolving to highlight the freshest local ingredients. You can always expect creative Midwestern comfort food with a modern twist.
